Product Introduction
Introducing the ToughArmor MB720MK-B V3, a rugged and removable quad M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD enclosure designed for a 5.25″ optical drive bay. This powerful enclosure supports blazing-fast data transfer rates of up to 64Gbp/s through the OCulink (SFF-8612) interface and is compatible with Tri-mode host cards. Installing or removing M.2 NVMe SSDs has never been simpler, thanks to the removable drive trays with tool-less adjustable M.2 drive lockers. You can easily swap drives without having to open your computer case or mess with mounting screws.
To ensure top-notch cooling performance, the MB720MK-B V3 comes equipped with dual cooling fans in the back, effectively dissipating the heat generated by high-speed PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Moreover, each drive tray features an extra-large heatsink lid and thermal pad, keeping your SSDs at optimal temperatures. As part of ICY DOCK’s toughest line, the MB720MK-B V3 boasts a full metal construction and metal barrel key locks, providing maximum protection for your valuable drives.
Now Compatible with Tri-Mode Controllers
By popular demand and in response to recent updates to circuit boards from host card manufacturers, the ToughArmor MB720MK-B V3 now supports Tri-Mode controller cards from leading brands like Broadcom, Areca, and more. Superior PCIe 4.0 Performance
Unlock the full power of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs with the ToughArmor MB720MK-B V3. Each drive bay features a dedicated OCuLink (SFF-8612) connector, enabling a whopping 64Gb/s bandwidth rate-twice as fast as PCIe 3.0 and ten times faster than SATA standards. This makes it a perfect solution for data-intensive applications like autonomous driving, mobile automation, real-time forecasting, film editing, and military computing.
Removable Drive Tray Design
Typically, M.2 SSDs are installed on the motherboard or adapter card and secured with tiny screws, requiring you to open the computer case to access the drives. The ToughArmor MB720MK-B V3 brings your M.2 NVMe SSDs to the 5.25″ optical bay of your computer system, allowing you to swap drives without opening the case, making drive maintenance more efficient and hassle-free.
Patent-Pending M.2 Drive Locker
To install a drive, simply place the M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD in the drive tray, adjust the M.2 drive locker to the correct drive length, and you’re good to go-no tools or screws needed!
Full Drive Length Support
The M.2 adjustable locker accommodates all standard M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD drives, including 2230 (30mm), 2242 (42mm), 2260 (60mm), 2280 (80mm), and 22110 (110mm), making it universally compatible and future-proof for extra-long M.2 110mm drives.
EMI Grounding Technology
Grounding your M.2 SSD is crucial, as swapping drives without proper grounding can lead to hardware damage from static shocks. Our innovative EMI Grounding Technology ensures that once the drive clips into the M.2 adjustable locker, it remains grounded through the tray, housing, and computer system, protecting your drives from static electrical surges during swapping.
